Waterfall Explorer Tour

All Terrain Vehicles

Toby Creek Adventures Ltd.

Visit an enchanting snow-fed waterfall hidden in old-growth forest only steps from the main ATV trail to Paradise Bowl. This tour is a perfect vacation interlude, and suitable for all members of the family. Even though it’s only a 2-hour trip you will feel like you have left the busy towns and highways behind and truly experienced the peace and beauty of the mountains.

What you can expect

This family friendly ATV tour is perfect for all experience levels with a full comprehensive safety briefing and ATV riding instruction provided. It's important to feel comfortable on your ATV so some practice time is provided at the base area before embarking on your journey.

Your guide will lead you up the trail through old-growth forest and open slopes for a spectacular view of Panorama Mountain Resort and the surrounding peaks of the Toby Creek Valley.

At the mid-point of the trip you will park your ATV and follow your guide along a short pathway to the base of the hidden Smith Falls where you can watch this pure snow-fed mountain stream cascade down a vertical rock face. Get up close and personal and feel the mist on your face at the base of the falls. You can even try your hand at gold-panning in one of the pools beside the viewpoint.

During the winter months, the waterfall is fully frozen. By June, it casts off the ice pillar and rushes over the rock face. Come July, the waterfall will be in full force due to melting snow and run off. The power of the fall will start to reduce in August and September and turn into a sparkling bridal-veil fall. Early October is when you can expect to see thin ice beginning to reform along the edges.
