Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is the home to the worlds largest enclosed and protected grizzly bear habitat and where orphaned bear "Boo" lives and plays. Visitors are given the great opportunity, as part of an interpretive tour, to view a grizzly bear interacting as much as they do in the wild.

What you can expect

The Discover Grizzly Bears tour is a 10 hour tour, which will begin in Banff at 8:30am and Lake Louise 9:15am. The tour will return to Lake Louise just after 5pm and to Banff at 6:30pm.

The Discover Grizzly Bear Tour takes you to to Yoho National Park, where you will stop at Emerald Lake (20 mins) and the 302m high Takakkaw Falls (30mins) and travel over the Kicking Horse Canyon. You will then take a gondola ride to Eagle’s Eye restaurant for lunch with a panoramic view of the Rocky Mountains, before taking a chair lift to visit Boo for the Grizzly Bear Tour at the Bear Refuge (45mins).

  • Tours in early June will include stops at the Spiral Tunnels and Natural Bridge instead

  • There is a 48 hour cancellation policy
  • You can change/cancel or refund your booking 48 hours outside your booked tour (up to 7 days for group booking)
  • Any cancellations or changes within 48 hours, late-comers or no-shows for any tour, will NOT be rescheduled or refunded
  • Group bookings of 9 or more guests have a 7 day cancellation period
  • Custom and private bookings have a 7 day cancellation period
