A true Canadian winter adventure! Put your snowshoes on and escape into a snow filled paradise with miles and miles of pristine backcountry wilderness. This tour is a mix of fun, challenge, and learning, and your professional guides will see to it that you're given the proper Rocky Mountain experience.

What you can expect

A challenging snowshoe adventure at Sunshine Meadows; you will be guided up the gondola and chairlift to access beautiful backcountry powder above the treeline surrounded by mountain peaks.

12:00 /12:30 pm - Banff hotel pickups
1:00 pm - Meeting at Sunshine Village on top of stairs in front of Creekside Building
1:15 pm - Ride the Gondola and Standish chairlift at Sunshine Village
1:40 pm - Amazing deep powder snowshoing surrounded by spectacular scenery
4:00 pm - Head back down on the Gondola to the base
4:15 pm - Return to Banff

  • Suitable for fit individuals ages 12+ as this trip is rated moderate to strenuous
  • Minors (under the age of 18) must be accompanied by an adult on every tour unless otherwise arranged with managing staff at the White Mountain Adventures office
  • The WMA Snowshoeing on Top of the World program takes place in backcountry alpine terrain and presents serious safety risks for any person not dressed properly or sufficiently fit to complete the entire walk. Once a group leaves the top chairlift station, and begins walking downhill, there is no turning back for the group

Cancellation / Refund

  • Cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to departure time, unless otherwise informed.  Cancellations within 48 hours will not be refunded
  • Tours operate in all weather conditions, but if the temperature is below -24 Celsius (-11 Fahrenheit) or tours are unable to run there will be a full refund for all guests or there will be the option to rebook for a different day
  • If you are not at your pickup location on time, the guide will leave without you and you will not be refunded
