Paragliding at Revelstoke Mountain

Revelstoke Paragliding

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to fly, here is your chance! Soar with the birds and experience the freedom and exhilaration of paragliding. This is your opportunity to take in everything Revelstoke has to offer, from the best seat in the house – the passenger seat of a Tandem Paraglider piloted by the experienced pilots of Revelstoke Paragliding.

What you can expect

Meet at the bottom of the ski hill (winter) or at the landing zone on airport way (summer) where you will go over the itinerary for this activity and sign the disclaimer of liability form.

Following this you will drive or take the gondola and chairlift to the top of the mountain where a short walk or ski will lead you to the launch area. It's a beautiful launch area with absolutely stunning views of the Valley and Columbia River below. Simply being on launch is an extremely worthwhile experience.

You will be given an extensive safety briefing to make sure you understand every step of the launch and flight process. If you decide not to fly, the choice is yours and the flight can be canceled or postponed, Ultimately the final decision to fly or not remains with the pilot and can be subject to weather.

Launching on a paraglider is not a scary and adrenaline heavy event like skydiving. In paragliding you simply run off the gentle slope until your feet no longer touch the ground and you are airborne!! It's an exquisite feeling.

Your pilot will explain everything in real time during the flight. No headphones necessary, there will be nothing but the sound of the wind up there. You will explore the mountain, look for thermals to fly higher and with any luck maybe even fly with birds. That is the ultimate flying experience.

The flight should last approximately 20-40 minutes depending on the thermic and weather conditions.

You will get to fly over all of Revelstoke Mountain Resort. In the winter you land near the mid-mountain lodge, where you can purchase tasty post-flight refreshments. During the summer months you land in a field closer to the river which allows the opportunity to fly above the mighty Columbia River.

The touchdown is nice and gentle and before you know it you will have tasted free flight and will forever look skywards.
