Whistler Via Ferrata Tour

Climbing

Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures

One of the first Via Ferrata’s in Canada, it provides exhilarating views and a vertical perspective you may not have thought possible! Climbing a Via Ferrata does not require any special skills or prior experience. This thrilling activity is not reserved for seasoned mountain climbers – any reasonably fit hiker can do it!

What you can expect

The tour will begin at the mountaintop office, located on Whistler Mountain. At the office you will meet your guide, sign a waiver, and be outfitted with your climbing gear.

Next is a walk across either a snow slope or a boulder field (depending on the time of year and mountain conditions) as you approach the start of the climb.

At the base of the climb you will look up to the summit of the Whistler peak.

There will be a short break at Lunch Ledge with excellent photo opportunities, and then onward and upward to the 2160m summit.

At the summit there will be world-class photo opportunities, and a short descent will lead back to the mountaintop office concluding the tour.

*This climb takes roughly 4 hours depending on conditions, number of climbers, and climbing efficiency.
