Whether you have years of ice climbing experience or have never climbed before, this tour is for you! First time climbers will be introduced to ice climbing, while more experienced climbers will be guided up more challenging routes. It’s a surprisingly easy activity that anyone can enjoy, and all under the direct supervision of a professional ACMG guide.

What you can expect

Itinerary
8:30am meet guide at the Whistler Village office for trip briefing and gear check
9:00am drive to climbing venue of choice
Description of objective and guest responsibilities
Climb beautiful ice!
Lunch break around noon (lunch not provided)
Continue climbing
4:30 back at office for trip debrief, and collection of all rental gear
*Debrief and gear collection can be done on location

To-bring

  • Mountaineering, Ski or snowboard boots. Rentals are available upon request
  • Warm clothing (wool/synthetic recommended)
  • Warm socks (wool/synthetic recommended)
  • Insulating jacket (down or similar)
  • Shell jacket (Gore-tex or similar)
  • Shell trousers
  • Warm gloves and shell gloves
  • Snacks/Lunch

  • Basic knowledge of climbing knots and safety systems is an asset but not required

Meet location

There are a variety of ice filled canyons, single pitch, multi pitch and mixed climbs between Squamish, Pemberton and Lillooet. Your guide will choose the best venue depending on current conditions, your timeline, goals and ability.

Restrictions

  • All guests must sign a release of liability waiver prior to participating in any activity. Guests who are 19 years and older sign their own waiver. Guests under the age of 19 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver on their behalf
  • It is strongly recommended that you purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance upon booking and Emergency Evacuation insurance. A recommended insurance provider is Tugo.Com or call 1800 663 0399 if required

Cancellation / Refund

  • Within 24 hours - Cancellation notice will result in a 100% forfeit of tuition, no reschedule
  • Outside of 24 hours - $25 rescheduling fee per booking or full refund
  • If conditions force Mountain Skills Academy and Adventures to cancel a course or trip they will do all they can to accommodate you at another date. If this isn’t possible you will receive a full refund. They reserve the right to decline rescheduling dates based on availability
